C Data Marine Secures MOD contract
February 2020: C Data Marine, a leading provider of professional IT Solutions to marine related industries, has been awarded a contract with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) providing logistics business systems software and support for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA).
The RFA fleet delivers vital logistical and operational support to the Royal Navy. This contract will enable further development of bespoke software applications that support RFA ship upkeep activity and commercial spares procurement. Further enhancements will facilitate co-ordinated data sharing between RFA ships and Ministry of Defence Industry partners and suppliers. The software will enable wider access to vital information for the upkeep of the ships and simplify the communication process for Inventory Managers who manage the procurement and ordering of spares for the ships.
Commodore David Smith from Naval Ships Support said: “Having innovative software for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships will help manage their upkeep and management of spares effectively and efficiently.”
“This is a prestigious contract to secure for our IT services”, comments C Data Marine CEO Clive Robinson. “It is very rewarding to work so closely with the MOD in developing bespoke solutions tailored to the way RFA business requires. There will be some exciting developments underway soon.”
